Alice Harman
Alice is a children’s author who loves helping kids to explore our world and all its wonders. She writes and develops fun, thoughtful books that make big ideas feel exciting and easy to understand.
Alice has written more than 50 books, most of them non-fiction, and is always just as excited to get started on the next one – partly because it’s a great way to add to her author stash of bizarre facts. Did you know that gorillas burp when they’re happy? Or that art used to be an Olympic event?
Her books have been translated into 15 languages, nominated for the UKLA and Blue Peter Book Awards, and featured in publications such as the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Alice grew up in London, studied in Brighton and Paris, and spent several years working for children’s publishers and charities. She now lives in a pretty town in Derbyshire with her husband, young daughter and very silly cat.
